SWINDON VILLAGE PROJECT UPDATE

Dear Blog viewers

Sorry it has been some months since I last posted any news on the proposed works to Swindon Village Primary but fear not we have all been working extremely hard

Planning Consent to our proposals was received on 20 May - hooray!

Kier Moss have put together what is called Contractor's Proposals. This is a set of drawings, documents and costs which describe in detail the scheme they will formally contract to build. The client team has been consulted throughout this process so it truly reflects what is wanted. I am pleased to say that on Monday 27 June it was agreed that we have  "a financially viable scheme to deliver on site"

Kier have also been working through how best to build the project so that they cause the least disruption to the school, pupils, staff and parents. I'm not sure how legible the construction phasing plan will be on the blog but I thought it worth a try so you can see how well considered this complicated process is.

Work will start on site at the beginning of the school holidays 25 July.

I also attach the image of the new front entrance to the school. You will notice that the photovoltaic array above the entrance is no longer shown. This is because the photovoltaics have been moved to a better location for generating energy on the existing school roof.

I will keep you updated with progress on site so expect to hear from me at the beginning of September
